LG introduced its first OLED evo TVs last year to make OLED TVs brighter and now the company is doubling down with even more brilliant displays this year.
The new LG G3 series specifically features Brightness Booster Max, which promises to increase brightness up to 70%. This is all thanks to how LG has applied a new light control architecture and light-boosting algorithms to its latest flat displays on the gallery series.
The LG G3 TVs are also getting a redesign with a zero-gap design, so they sit flush against the wall when wall-mounted.
Brightness Booster Max is also coming to LG’s next-generation Z3 OLED evo 8K TVs, but these TVs are only 30% brighter than last year.
The LG C3 Series on the other hand only receives a Brightness Booster upgrade that only increases apparent brightness slightly, meaning colors will appear to be brighter but the actual peak brightness hasn’t increased. Similar to last year's LG C2 line, the 48- and 42-inch versions of the LG C3 won’t get brighter panels.
Outside of brighter panels, LG is also introducing its 6th-gen AI processor. This new chip promises better upscaling, enhanced dynamic tone mapping, and a more lifelike HDR picture that identifies and refines objects like people’s faces.
Another big feature gamers might love is multi-view which grants users a double input mode so they can see display content from two separate devices connected over HDMI. And speaking of HDMI, LG’s 2023 TVs feature HDMI 2.1a, which enables Quick Media Switching (QMS) or QMS-VRR to eliminate the black screen you see whenever you switch between devices that operate at different frame rates.
